GIVE PEACE A CHANCE

Read Time:42 Second

I awoke to the cry of my nation

People running about in utter confusion
The media agog by the masses’ bitter luck
Would they be if their own families were struck?
Where went our ancestral calm ?
Our sleep has been snatched from our pried-open palm

Our mothers lie at home helpless
These thugs have made their babies fatherless
Look at the bride who just went for her honeymoon
She too has become a widow, so soon
These children voyaging towards destiny’s corridor
Had their dreams trampled on an uneven floor

I call on you like-minded critic
Come let’s together patch our nation’s torn fabric
Storm the streets, we must, to voice our mind
Let’s create smiles and give eyes to the blind
Human blood is not for sacrifice!
Peace should be given a chance
