WHAT DO WE DO by Esther Oyebode

Read Time:1 Minute, 12 Second

When death takes us yonder,

and we see that it was not as we dreamt;

when life’s breath still made us tweak,
what would we do?

When we find out that heaven and hell
was the old wife’s tale to make us morally upright,
and reward and punishment ends while we lived,
what would we do?

When we know of no rapture,
and the religious deity we worship is nowhere,
the harness of our rights has been for nothing
what would we do?

When we realize that no matter what we do,
there would be no judgment white throne.
We would just die and the world would go on,
what would we do?

When there would be no Antichrist,
there would be no tribulation time;
no new world order
what would we do?

When we discover our religions have been false,
and most leaders just wanted to ride our backs,
only the religion of humanism seems to be good
what do we do?

When we discover that the world
was meant for pure exploration,
with no negative side effects,
what would we do?

When we find out that we would sleep
and not wake up again, but no regrets
no matter what we have done, nothing happens
what would we do?

When we cannot say we want to come back
to tell people our experiences,
because no one holds the key back to life
what do we do?
