Read Time:37 Second
Our feet sink in muddy lanes
And trek bush paths
As we walk daily to school
They gave us under-trees as class-rooms
Glorified poultries as laboratories
Anthills as hostels
And saliva as water
We live in constant fear of walking at night
Where creeping creatures either sting
Or standing creatures strike
We are constantly choked
With fumes of smoky lanterns
And extorted by hunting teachers
In time past
We go to school without paying fees
But today
We pay fees without going to school
They lock school gates against us
While the prison doors
They leave ajar
