While we struggle for wealth
Positions and influence
Some are lying in state
In anatomical position
On dressing tables in mortuaries
Amidst a beclouding atmosphere
Of rot and stench
Amidst the ambience
Of silent echoes and choruses
Bodies lay lifeless
Wearing the semblance
Of heated clay
They have gone back
To everlasting beginning
Some are refrigerated
Others are displayed
Under the blazing smile of the sun
With fluids dripping
As the seconds pass
Indeed vanity upon vanity
All is vanity
They were once like us
One day we shall be like them
