TO MY FELLOW YOUTHS

Today, I invite my imagination
To stand on the platform of life
And share with my fellow youths
The words of wisdom
You may sit down and listen….

Lo, I see in your eyes
The visions of corruption
That you’ll suck the world dry
When you grow to drink
…the breast of this world

Listen, o my dear youths
Its breast is not as sweet
As you prepare your lips to suck
O it is bitter for all
It secretes the milk of hardship

Go and check yourselves
… In the broken mirrors
Of them that sucked it dry yesterday
With their lips forgotten on its nipple
Lo, you’ll spit on their graves

For they crept like snakes
In a zigzag to bite and spit poison
Into the hearts of my kinsmen
The poison of deceit
Why are you following their ways?

Listen, the world is also an egg
It is only those with soft hands
Can carry it and survive
So why not soften your palms
With the sweats of your handiwork?

Trouble no more your eyes
With the visions of corruption
But be the cutlasses that’ll kill
The snakes biting my kinsmen
Thanks for your standing ovation

Good-bye!
