I laid quietly in bed
When it detonated –
The soul sniffing device.
I heard their screams – my neighbors
From within my cell –
With I myself but befuddled.
Their voices raged – intoned,
Affirming the unfathomable misery
And fueling the existent bedlam.
“We had seen him –
The time bomber –
Perched by their window.”
Their gravelly voices merged in mourning
And my placation to no avail –
As continuously, they wailed.
