My Dear Amore,
“Some of you will not live to tell of how we won or lost this battle…”
Those where part of the last words we were told by our commander before we departed
Far away from our father land and deep into the western world we headed
Our county’s name, honour and glory we were obliged to uphold
This day fate has made me know the group it has chosen for me
Oh yes, we have been divided and from what my eyes can see
I am with the group that is living to tell of how we won or lost the battle
I feel fortunate to be alive today, because at least you will hear from me again
But what I don’t know is what would be left of me after this.
This has got to be the saddest words of my life
Ever since my mother left this life
You wouldn’t have read this far before you’ll have noticed
The bitter-bad news I’m about to bring to your notice
I still have one last chance to have a glance at your face
A memory I’ll have until I’m laid below the earth’s surface
But After that I won’t be able to see you anymore
Your tender care I won’t be able to feel anymore
It is a pity you’ll meet me here today
We got very little time, but there’s so much to say
When we are done you will walk past the gates alone
Please, don’t look back, just remember I loved you to my bone
As we spend our last moment together
In your arms, I want to spend every second of it
Please don’t break the hug till the soldiers tear us apart
When they do, you should have known how things fell apart
As they take me away, baby please don’t cry
I’m going to miss you; that I can’t deny
Surely after this many, months will pass by
Wipe your tears, put yourself together and love another
