Calm, constant and compelling
The voice beckons
Sometimes confrontational
Sometimes comforting
It conveys the message
Whether at dawn or dusk
The voice compels
In the ghetto or garden
It pierces every barrier
Neither dumbness nor deafness
Hinders it’s potency
Kings and slaves hear it
Sage and savage too
All crave to hear the voice
Humanity pines away
When the voice is silenced
We live and reign
When it is heard and heeded
Do you recognise the voice
Do you still heed its words?
