merely to pray our hearts out
hoping for paradise beyond
heaven bursts in laughter
laugh

and laugh
at us
For, lo! The road to paradise
is not in heaven
not in anywhere
far apart
Nay! it is there in the heart of man
The hearts of leaders
who themselves are led
by the needs of the led
Of statesmen
who for others live
and for themselves forget to live
The hearts of good deeds
that from evil retreat
like asses, from lion flee
