I woke up every morning
To the sharp war cry of pain and suffering
Strewn dead bodies of children in the streets
Lost souls drifting down to the pits

The present

Staggering through life like a drunkard in the night
With wine on my lips giving to my fearsome flight
But with every morning, pain and suffering
Doth usher me into the realities of life
The strength of folly and vanity of strife

The future

A time is past, a time is coming…a time is here
When to one man shall all situations bow
Bringing to light, the essence of peace
And to the bosom of Sheol, all pain and suffering flees

What is past, what is, and what is still to come?
