Hear the cry of the city
The pain of penury
A family of eight crowded in a room
The Kilimanjaro Mountain of filth
Plus the consumptive stench
And dilapidated architecture
The sunken eyes and broken bodies
All litter the nooks and crannies
Hear the cry of the city
The potency of the red light zone
Portraits of wasted potentials and promises
A marriage of addiction and affliction
Erection determining direction
Wholesomeness sacrificed for vanity
In the valley of rotten bones
Confusion is the trademark
Hear the cry of the city
The agitation and agony of children
Youths displaced, distressed and depressed
Adults endangered and enslaved
The grey haired are sentenced to death
Like birds beaten by a heavy downpour
Residents shiver in the cold of apathy
As life is worthless than a dime
