O politician, I call unto you
You must mind the words I speak to you
Your tired people can no longer abjure
So I come to you, I pray, I adjure
We never believed in politicians’ many promises
Showered on us when they leave your palaces
But your words gave us hope again
Now we see the lies. Oh, what a bargain!
You man of stained promises, lend me your ear!
These bitter words I speak, you must bear!
Your unfulfilled promises have caused us tears
They bred disorder, the people are full of fears
Because your victory vote been counted
You leave them people disappointed,
Dumped your promises, once so ample
Can’t you follow past leaders’ example?
You politicians with stained promises
Your followers future is in your hands, gather the pieces!
I plead, amend your ways! You can still atone
For now they’re dogs, hungry for bones
Our promises sit on one legged chair
The people mourn their woes in sorrowful pairs
