Songs for the writers
Composed from the harmonic agony of the water crisis
Tears drenched tone, confirmed in husky voice of terror
We pray the gods to defuse the grip of that mask-man
Fastened on rains of slaughtering matters
We dance on dread steps
We sang on death pitch
Our lives were bought with golden jasper from the hand hadis
Living under cost of high jacinth of life
We paid to survive upon pennies of strength bestowed on feet
For flight from mercy hands of juniper
Dusk to dawn we travelled the forbidden path of a hungry forest
As its rumbling stomach of wild beast makes a need of our flesh
We took the song of agbesu to overthrow its taste of blood juice
Yet its parasites sting the epidemic of our dried skin
Feeding from the little streams of energy that run in our weak veins
Shot, bombed, arsonist preyed on our hunts
We strolled in the desolate fishing camp
The ruler of our clan fails to see we won
As he bows to inevitable will before time
We swayed and wiggled our hopes on wrong judgments
As apologies was sacrificed on the altar of unwanted damage
