ONE DAY

One Day

The silence I evoked left me without a doubt
My once candid views are now misconstrued
If I had but another chance to tell my story
The words I would change
Maybe heal the earth or let it be

If the gods would give thought to their subjects
And rise to meet this endless challenge of man-eat-man
Then, just then we may call ‘uhuru’
But alas the gods cannot rise
So we wait
We pray
Hope
For the promise He gave when He said
I am with you always, even till the end of time

Yet we failed
Our doubts, belittled Thomas
O ye of little faith
Would that we kept our faith strong
Then hope would not die
And we would say,
We are one body

Strong
United…
Stop!
Thou shalt not kill!
Maybe one day…
We would find that peace…again
