When our faith stands like a weary tree
When we place our trust on sand that sinks
Like peter, pull us from this deep blue sea
We Thomases, show us thy hands and feet
When we struggle day and night without sleep
We fetch water with baskets, at the end we hiss
Know ye! Faith is patient and firm
Know ye! Faith, never enduring, will never endure ill
Season come, seasons will go
So will these muddy fates turn gold
Listen brother to the words heard across the wind
Cry not sister for without heat they will be no steel
Varied are our beliefs… But we all must believe
Some worship a God they can’t see.
Others claim reality is all there is
Alas! They stand still, they hope… but they don’t believe
