She’s filthy and it’s no lie
She’s guilty and must die
That, everyone knows.
But mercy said no.
On the scale of justice and truth,
She ate the forbidden fruit
She is a whore
A prostitute to the core
Instead of leaving her to be brought to book
By the poison of the forbidden apple she took
They would rather with their hands her blood spilled
The pages of their Mercy book was filled
Men said she deserved death
But mercy called for rebirth
They quoted the law;
She must die- an outlaw!
They justified their quest to uphold the law
But the law of man is always with flaw
“Stone her to death” was the conclusion
But “be sinless” the condition
Aware of the ways of man’s heart
And it’s mastery of deception art
The master sat and wrote into dust
Mercy, grace, love… Who will stone first?
How flawed those men must have been
That only the woman’s sin was seen
For it takes two to do the tango
Where was he with whom she tangoed?
Mercy said no! She needs a new life!
