Read Time:33 Second
Thought you once took pride
in blemish scars – that
so revealed your victory
in natures wrestle
Thought you had your ash
of silvery sparkle – for
eyelids to tickle your lords’ guests
of distant transits
Thought your pores needed air
for gracious bloom – see
the hot clime you roost
for skins honeyed thru
Thought you read, the many
mirror reflections, before
walking this mile to reveal you –
new in alien masks, circus fit
Thought you knew, your bleached
face, dyed brows and spiky lashes
will find you out, and on judgement sing,
‘go, bring me back to me’!
