When I look in the mirror, I see a face.
It stares at me, it taunts me,
the face of a once doting husband,
once a perfect father

When I look in the mirror, I see a thief,
a highway robber, who stole our peace
and tore our heart to shreds

When I look through the glass,
I see a reflection. I see that man
yes that same one, who was not content
He took a second wife and turned
a once happy home into a war front

When l look in the mirror I see a man
who gained it all in love but lost it all to lust

They say I look just like him, I hear whispers
behind my back. They say things;
Oh! He is a “carbon copy”
Don’t be fooled! The similarity ends with resemblance

I stare once again and I can’t help but agree
I look just like him, he stares, taunts me
it’s almost as if he’s talking to me;
“Son, you will always look like me”

Yes father I will always look Iike you
But if I can help it, and I can
I will never be like you!
