Desolate places,
Weeping faces,
Blood traces,
Embittered races,
Fallen maces,
Pathetic cases,
Penury paces,
Broken vases!
O king ordained by the King,
Why are your glances not seen?
Hard work grows to robbery,
Honesty bows to treachery,
Intelligence wears the coat of con!
Shall your eyes behold
This catastrophe unfold?
Shall you then let it be said
That evil prophecies, untold
Came true while you led the fold
Heritage battered, bloodied, sold!
Pleading eyes,
Hurting ears,
Runny noses,
Wounded tongues,
Bleeding skin!
We now lie prostrate to eat,
Breathing foul policies,
And unjustified promises
Shed tears to put out,
The flames of our stifled shouts.
Corruption’s stink,
Destruction’s brink,
Crafty wink,
Broken fraternal link,
Habitat sink,
Haemo ink,
Livers pink,
Mortals shrink,
O king, think!
