If ever there is a day
to be joyful,
This is that day;
If ever there is a time
to be happy,
Now is that time
I will not wait
I will not wait till tomorrow,
For tomorrow might just be too late;
I will not wait for tomorrow,
For tomorrow may not find me here
I will not wait
I will not wait
till that ravishing damsel is mine,
to have and to hold
in blessed nuptial bliss;
I will not wait
till that posh four-wheeler is mine
to steer and to cruise
across the city;
I will not wait
till I have earned a place amongst
the world’s who is who,
and my nation’s greats;
I will not wait
till I dwell in palatial abode,
feasting on the best
that money can buy;
I will not wait
until I am signatory
to a bulging bank balance,
to serve my endless cravings
I will not lose today’s pleasures…
Searching for tomorrow’s pastures,
Tomorrow is my fantasy,
But today is my reality;
Tomorrow is but a thought,
Today is all I have got;
What better time is there
To be radiant than now
I will not wait
