Read Time:38 Second
Though I curled not
In the warmth
Of your blessed womb,
Nor sucked Life’s juice
From your breasts,
I call you mummy!
Even though I rode not
On your back,
Nor fell asleep
In the safety
Of your arms,
I call you mummy!
Yours is the hand
That puts bread and meat
In the empty mouth
Of the offspring
Of another woman’s womb.
I call you mummy!
My soul can testify
That my heart’s beats
Sing a song.
And there,
In the lyrics thereof,
I call you mummy!
I pen this poem
With crystal gems
Falling, klop, klop,
From the wells of my eyes.
Let none ask why;
I call you mummy!
