For the blood soaked misery
That draped me
I split no blame
For the time of the thatched rags
When hungry lips lapped mucus
My scales hold no grudge
For the hunger that gnawed
When sunken eyes served bulbous head
Anger won’t raise these lashes
For the clawed shame
That encamped me
Revenge will get no letter
Too weighty a price, unerringly paid
Her incessant tears will not but testify
To chanting pains weaved with longings
She’d already reaped her deeds
The scars won’t lie
Too glaring a tale they tell.
