Have we not heard this sermon?
From our cracked walls
And our weary huts?
Message of hasty salvation
That was never witnessed?
Have we not heard this sermon?
Trending and bursting forth
Wild and manic
From same cult
Whose lashes our flesh bear?
Have we not heard this sermon?
We forget too quick
The mess that plunged us into penury
How the beasts we reared rebelled
Killed our offsprings
And tore their flesh to shreds?
Have we not heard this sermon?
Why wail we witlessly?
When upon the wake of dawn
We traded off our franchise
For a pot of adorable arbitration
Have we not heard this sermon?
Messages of blighted hopes
Rhythms of debauched plenty
Crusade with sickening oratory
To scheme their way through
Have we not heard this sermon?
Beseeching our cities
Raising banners of death
Unleashing tameless humans
Whose sense of decency are dead?
Have we not heard this sermon,
Spoken with riffles and vicious dreams,
To crush other suitors?
Have we not heard this sermon?
Why then is our fate so obscure?
