FUTILITY OF LOVE by Joseph Raji

Read Time:32 Second

I gave you the sun
You said it was too bright;
I gave you the moon
You said it was too cool.

I sent you the cloud
You said it was too dark;
The rain I sent too,
You said it was too heavy.

I sent you my care
You said it was too dear
I tried to give you my best
But you said it wasn’t good enough.

And now, things seem so tedious
Because I cannot make you happy
I may not have the sensuous qualities you want
But my Topaz you will remain.

This, I have written
In the abyss of loneliness and abandonment
