The clouds above are sad, and dark as coal;
The tears they shed cannot our hearts, console.
Our terra firma reeks of crimson fluid;
Our leafy friends have lost their rich-green hue.
The human core cascades into near-naught;
It holds no fear for dust that binds our breath.
Our teeth are smeared with tar and specks of grime;
Our walls of pride plummet to earth with time.
I used to know a lad who was once bad;
Today his deeds can drive the Devil mad.
Forget the rage and blood that rent the air;
We need to rise and fight this evil here.
