Read Time:43 Second
I wanted to kiss the clouds
So up I went climbing
Deferring the porcupine hugs of the mountain
To shine like the North Star
I wanted to see the ocean’s birth
So I grabbed my rudders
And listened to the wailings of sea gulls
Cast amulets on my vain soul
I wanted to be ahead my peers
So I gave kolanut to the night
Placed wreaths at day’s tomb
And sought the acquaintance of owls
I wanted to be at the top
of the ladder against the wall I placed
To break the yoke
That beheld my desires
I am pregnant with my desires
Covered in veils of drought
For I thirsted for more
On the banks of river Niger
