A PLEA FOR MY KINDRED

Tossing and turning from unsettled sleep,
The dream mocked… drifting away
With unnerving messages.

Images linger like an ache.
A field soaked in blood,
Charred remnants of bones
A blackened field…
It’s meaning… Lost in obscurity

Shivering awake in cold sweat
I send up a plea to the Maker of Life

Great maker
Being of immense size and power
Creator of Life, Keeper of Life
Directing Force of the Universe

Please stay the hand of the destroyer
And stem the tide of evil and death
Ravaging the Land divided by Two Rivers.
