As petals absorb the emerging rays
That sprouts from time and tide at its season’s peak
So does his compass trail my thought that strays
To earthly tides and in them solace seek
For he listens beyond the beating drums
Of desire, of destiny and youthful thrusts
And sees beyond the skies of throttling sums
That ignite the firm flames of worldly lusts
He’s the oil that fuels my car of struggle
The ladder with which I attained all heights
The reason why in thorns I still giggle
Taming the windy winds that blur’d my sight
And when my moon, my sun, my stars were dead
He came, and showed a friend is one in deed
