Ghanaian Civil Engineer and award-winning writer, OPPONG CLIFFORD BENJAMIN, will be presenting a paper entitled: WRITERS AND NOETIC SCIENCES- THE POWER OF OUR INTENTIONS at the annual Words Rhymes & Rhythm (WRR) Literary Festival – ‘FEAST OF WORDS’ 2016 which will holding at the INSTITUTE OF AFRICAN STUDIES, University of Ibadan (UI), Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday, 3rd of December 2016.
Themed ‘WORDS IN A SEASON OF CHANGE’, the FEAST OF WORDS festival will host writers, performers, thinkers, artists, book lovers and lovers of literature from all over the country. It will feature stimulating discussions, awards, book unveiling, readings musical performances, a play by the University of Ibadan Theatre Arts Students, and an African Night of words, music, and palm wine.
Clifford, who administers the multicultural website WWW.GHANAWRITES.COM which has writers from Ghana, Nigeria, Turkey and Liberia, is very passionate about writing. His works have featured on several national and international platforms like Kwee Magazine (Liberian National Magazine), The PortorPortor by Forte Othniel, an international anthology which featured 12 emerging and renowned poets like Professor Anthea Mark-Romeo and Jack Kolkmeyer; the UK Poetry library.
He has read his poems in Ghana, Russia, South Africa, UK, and Nigeria where he has a wide following. His relationship with Nigerian poets has seen him become one of the regular contributors to Words Rhyme & Rhythm Poetry (WWW.POETRY.WRR.NG), Africa’s largest indigenous poetry sharing platform. In 2013, he was honored with WRR’s Ghana Poet of the Year Award. He has also made television appearances, most recently for the African Dream in Connecticut TV program anchored by Oral Ofori.
