Winners have emerged in the Eriata Oribhabor Poetry Prize 2013.
Several poets from all around the world heeded the call for submissions. Submitted poems were top quality, touching on every aspect of social change.
It was a close contest. So close that 11 poets made the shortlist, instead of 10.
After the second round, the following poets emerged winners:
1st Prize N20,000 Winner ‘MY VOICE’ (by Madu Chisom Kingdavid)
2nd Prize N15,000 Winner ‘WE TOO SHALL PLANT TREES’ (by Soonest Iheanyi Nathaniel)
3rd Prize N10,000 Winner ‘LETTER TO MY UNBORN’ (by Julius Bokoru)
A Sponsor’s gift of N5,000 will be awarded to a poet whose poem did not win one of the top 3 prizes.
All winners will be invited to the 100TPC Abuja event coming up on 28th September, 2013.
Indeed, as we say in the WRRPoetry family, with poetry, we can rewrite the world, one verse at a time.
Thank you all for being part of it.
