Dear Readers,
Welcome to CỌ́N-SCÌÒ’s Migration Issue, where footsteps, memories, and identities converge to re-imagine the landscapes of human movement. We embarked on this voyage with a new Fiction Editor, S. Su’eddie Vershima Agema, whose artistry and expertise enrich our team alongside Jide Badmus (Poetry), Ehi-Kowoicho Ogwiji (Features), and myself as Editor-in-Chief. We extend heartfelt gratitude to our former Fiction Editor, Eugene Yakubu, for his contributions.
In this issue, you’ll encounter an array of voices traversing the terrain of Migration. Each piece resonates with the unique rhythm of this constant human transit. Our insightful interview with Ayomide Bayowa explores his writing, immigrant experiences, and the captivating themes weaved throughout his poetry collection “Gills.” Don’t miss it! As a migrant myself, this Issue resonates deeply. I contributed my perspectives in my short essay ‘Between Two Shores: The Migrant’s Tragic Duality‘ (page 42).
We are grateful to all our contributors, including Káyọ̀dé Ayobami, Nnadi Samuel, Fortune Simeon, Adesiyan Oluwapelumi, Sa’ada Isa Yahaya, Sadiq Abdulsalam Adeiza, Michael Emerald, Ikechukwu Henry, Torkwase Igbana, James Chinaza-Ibe, Blossom Umoren, Ibrahim Ajani Lawal, Grafreaks, Adedayo Agarau, Edwin Mamman, and Akal Mohan, for trusting us with their stories.
This journey doesn’t end here. The call for submissions for the next issue is almost open, and we invite you to keep exploring our themes. Let us continue to weave this tapestry of human experiences, stitch by stitch, word by word, image by image.
