CỌ́N-SCÌÒ MAGAZINE is accepting original poetry, prose (fiction and non-fiction), art and photography for Issue 2/Volume 2 [October 2022]. Themed ‘Pacesetters’, this special issue honours Nigerians who have helped shape the literary ecosystem.
In the October 2022 Issue, we concern ourselves with Newton’s first law of motion which states that an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it. As in physics, this law has proven true in literature, especially in Nigeria where a positive change in motion has been engineered through the force of individuals—pacesetters as we have labelled them—who wanted more for themselves & others.
Most of these ‘Pacesetters’ have not been given the opportunity to share their stories of selfless contributions to the Nigerian literary ecosystem: some of them have evolved, others have moved on, and many have been forgotten, even as their contributions remain indelible.
In their honour, we are releasing a special issue titled, Pacesetters. It will feature twelve (12) writers, thinkers, and creatives whose institutions and initiatives have shaped Nigerian literature over the past two decades.
We welcome submissions (stories, poems, essays, art & photographs) that highlight or eulogize individuals who have contributed to the evolution of Nigerian literature.
DEADLINE:
The Submission Deadline is FRIDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER 2022
APPRECIATION:
Authors will receive a ₦3000 token for each submission that is accepted for publication. We hope to increase this token in subsequent issues.
