Blessing Omeiza Ojo is the winner of the Words Rhymes & Rhythm 2021 NIGERIAN TEACHERS AWARD for teachers of the English Language, Literature, and Creative Arts who have made outstanding contributions to the development of education and the literary industry in Nigeria.
Blessing Omeiza Ojo is the winner of the Words Rhymes & Rhythm NIGERIAN TEACHERS AWARD (WRR-NTA) 2021. WRR-NTA is an annual prize that recognizes and rewards Nigerian teachers of the English Language, Literature, and Creative Arts who have made outstanding contributions to the development of education and the literary industry in their respective schools.
Blessing is a creative writing instructor at Jewel Model Secondary School, Abuja. For over five years, he has been actively involved in literary administration, talent development and other related activities beyond the immediate requirements of his calling. His students have won several regional and national awards and competitions. In 2020, he was awarded the Artslounge Literature Teacher of the Year Award for his laudable contributions.
He was awarded a certificate of recognition and a token N10,000 cash token at the 2021 Words Rhymes & Rhythm Literary Festival, ‘FEAST OF WORDS 2021’ hosted by his school.

Blessing Omeiza Ojo is an award-winning writer and author of Ligh Dish, a 2020 poetry chapbook. His writing has been published on Split Lip, Olney, Icefloe, The Deadlands, and elsewhere. His literary awards include the 9th Korea-Nigeria Poetry Prize (Ambassador Special Prize), the 2020 Artslounge Literature Teacher of the Year Award, the 2021 Words Rhymes & Rhythm Nigerian Teacher’s Award, and the 2022 Maryam Aliyu Award for Best Teacher (Male). He is presently a creative writing instructor at Jewel Model Secondary School, Abuja, and the Chairperson of the Abuja Chapter of Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation (HCAF).
The WRR NIGERIAN TEACHERS AWARD (WRR-NTA) is an annual prize sponsored by Words Rhymes & Rhythm to recognize and reward Nigerian teachers for their contributions to the development of education and the literary industry. Teaching in Nigeria is often viewed as a second-class profession, and teachers are viewed as second-class citizens with poor pay and little social respect, as in many countries. Therefore, the WRR-NTA is a way to recognize and reward teachers in Nigeria who have made a lasting contribution to the English language, Literature in English, and the creative arts.
