Unalloyed by Tolulope Adeleke is on a journey to saving lost souls drowning in the ocean of sexual immorality. This motivational and spiritual book has exciting lessons about sex and relationships that you don’t get to hear in the classroom or even in the church.

Adeleke carries her readers like in a chit-chat session, with a humane conversation about delicate issues but in the most friendly and hospitable manner.

Don’t even think this is the ‘rebuking’ type of book that reminds readers how much they’ve strayed away from God and how they’ll wind up in the deepest pit in hell, this rather is tolerant and empathic, helping the reader to not dismiss himself as a pervert but see his wanton licentiousness as a normal category of the corporeal body but on the other hand an abnormal part of moral and spiritual life.

Reading the book is like a session with a shrink where the writer points out possible cause and effect factors most likely experienced by all kinds of readers, sexual and asexual.

She has a voice for every kind of reader and offers possible instances that affect reader’s life personally.

She nips the subject in the bud which isn’t surprising, for like she said, the inspiration for the book came from a vision from God, so this by extension is God beckoning his children to reconsider their ways least they turn prey to the devil and wallow in broken dreams, self-defeat, and hopelessness.

Her views on life and sex aren’t just grounded in nothingness; she backed them up with verses from the Holy Bible and lessons from personal experiences as it relates to herself, friends, or colleagues. So, this is no fiction, this is a true account of adulthood and youthfulness that every youth, married and unmarried will relate to. Adeleke deconstructs the popular belief that virginity means asexuality. For her, virginity goes beyond penetration and makes up of sexual and mental purity, psychological purity and social purity.

This book is a painkiller to hurting Christians especially victims of rape and sexual abuse.

She reassures victims that God is with them and has always been even during the abuse. She reminds them that “He felt and still feels every pain you feel”. She recommends books like T.D Jakes’ and Bible passages that will help readers to live pure lives and live over the hurt of molestation.

She must have researched the topic so-well because for every of her argument, she backs up with proves from the Holy Bible and life experiences.

An applaudable and beautiful effort in this book is that she doesn’t just stop at admonishing readers the secrets to living healthy sexual lives, she also provides prayers that readers can recite in order to make amends not just with themselves but with their creator, which is the ultimate of man existence on earth. Thus, the author invests on the spiritual life of the readers and is more concerned with drawing more souls to God than telling them sugar-coated lies they will want to hear.

In this book is a list of dos and don’ts on sexuality and relationship that the author fashions out to help young readers like her live their potential and stir clear of sin of the flesh which she quoted the Bible as saying “Flee fornication, for every sin that a man doeth, is without the body but he that commits fornication sins against his own body”.

Even though she discusses sex and sex life only through the spiritual perspective, she however saturates the theme by discussing adequately on its social aspect, moral aspect and physical aspect.

Worthy of mention is that despite her discourse on sexuality, she reduces the use of vulgarity and raw words that may denote lewdness to the barest minimum. Her ideas might be subjective some may say, but she here and there in the book reminds the reader that she also is human needing God’s grace but she’s only striving to stick to her philosophies of life and help others who are backsliding as commanded by God through a vision, thus, the bidding to talk to readers as directed by God.

In a world mired by sexual licentiousness and immorality, this is a worthwhile and timely effort that will instigate an embrace of morality and ethical behavior in the society.

This book will be a perfect read for youths, couples, and even lovers in a relationship.

It will help the woman to rediscover herself and amend her ways, and the man to learn how to stifle his sexual urges by turning to God and obeying his commands. Reading Adeleke’s Unalloyed will be a life-changing experience and at the same time impactful.

I will applaud the writer especially for her ability to hold readers in the book without losing interest even when she is giving them a ‘stale’ advice in contemporary society that is overcharged with everything sex and sensual pleasure.

Remarkably, the work is accommodating and empathic, it also sympathizes with victims struggling to break through from the shackles of sexual immorality, but it never for once was condescending, self-absorbed and reprimanding.
