Pyrokardia’s ‘A BEAUTIFUL MESS’
Pyrokardia’s ‘A BEAUTIFUL MESS’

Pyrokardia’s ‘A BEAUTIFUL MESS’ is the first of its kind from a Nigerian writer – a book written endlessly about love in a thought-provoking manner, filled with genuine human emotions. It is simply an outpouring of authenticity, creativity, and consistency.

A BEAUTIFUL MESS is what I will like to call ‘a manual to love’ and/or ‘a precaution cum remedy for broken-hearts’. It is a collection that most individuals can genuinely relate with, being built on an important aspect of human lives – emotions.

My best poem from is on page 20 of the book. It is entitled ‘I’M FINE’. This poem, I can guarantee, is one that everyone can and will enjoy. It is a flawless display of what it means to be and feel human and how skilled we are in hiding a million words, thoughts and feelings under the cloak of the words “I’m fine” when people ask “How are you?” It is indeed not about answering the question truthfully but answering as expected.

As a writer one of my fears in writing was answered by Pyrokardia – the fear in repeating ideas. Although A BEAUTIFUL MESS has two main themes reoccurring, every poem is different.

He writes so deftly that a lover’s “I love you” will always sound new even after the millionth time of hearing it.

Pyrokardia, author of A BEAUTIFUL MESS’

Personally, I think Pyrokardia is a lot like TOLU AKINYEMI, author of YOUR FATHER WALKS LIKE A CRAB and I LAUGH AT THESE SKINNY GIRLS, who presents thought provoking ideas through inexpensive and easy access to readers.

I will read this collection over and over again, and perhaps steal some words to write my future letters to loved ones…
